How do we have a life? What happens to us? Who influences us? Who and what do we influence? In a philosophical frame of mind, I developed this diagram, “WHAT TO DO TO HAVE A LIFE.” In it, I chart out the phases of childhood, adulthood, work, relationships, influences and other aspects that seem consequential to me.
To have a life is to understand what makes up our lives, where we start and where we end, as well as those we meet along the way.
The WHAT TO DO TO HAVE A LIFE is minimalistic, reducing one’s life down to mere abstraction visualized by labeled shapes. It shows a perspective of time and relationships through sequence and iconography. It takes a time to consider but isn’t extremely deep in its story. It is a meditation and a visualization.
